Phylloporia bistrigella
Species account from Moths of Glamorgan
Apparently restricted to the west of the county. The larva mines the leaves of birch, initially in a narrow gallery, then later in a large blotch. Once fully fed, it then cuts out a circular section of the leaf and drops to the ground to overwinter.
