Species account from Moths of Glamorgan
(Gilmore, Slade & Stewart, 2009):
This large and distinctive species flies in July, and late August usually in coastal reedbeds. The larvae feed on Common Reed and Reed Sweet-grass. There are only two records in Glamorgan, both in the west of the county: Pant-y-sais , 22.vii.1996 (BS & SJT), Crymlyn Bog, 03.viii.1996 (MW, KD, RHAT).
