Univoltine, flying in May and June on high rocky moorland. Currently only known from a single site in Glamorgan at Twynau Gwynion on the Glamorgan/Brecknockshire border where it was rediscovered in 1997. There are historical records supported by specimens from Merthyr Tydfil (1912-1923, GF) and three older records that refer to sites in lowland areas.
