Species account from Moths of Glamorgan
(Gilmore, Slade & Stewart, 2009):

Unlike the previous Pinion species, this insect has managed to survive in localities where there is sufficient regrowth of elm, and no doubt the fact that it also feeds on other types of tree and shrub will have aided its survival. However, it appears never to have been a common insect and records are centred around the Swansea / Neath area and the eastern Vale of Glamorgan / Cardiff where occasional specimens continue to be recorded.
