The core population of this scarce sandhill species is at Whiteford / Cwm Ivy though occasional wanderers recorded elsewhere hint that there might be other undiscovered populations. Discovered at Whiteford only as recently as 13.ix.1977 (MRH), then there was a 20 year gap before it was seen there again 20.ix.1997 (BS, SJS). Regular trapping at Cwm Ivy from 2001 onwards (VS) has shown that the species is well established coming to light annually in small numbers. Away from this site singletons have appeared at Pilton Green 01.x.1998 (SW, SVW) and at Sandy Lane 20.ix.2001 (SM).
