Species account from Moths of Glamorgan
(Gilmore, Slade & Stewart, 2009):

First reported by Evan John 1857, the species has long been known in the county. However, it is a thinly distributed species occurring in areas of woodland and heath where the larval foodplants birch and Bilberry occur. It has been recorded at sites near Neath, Bridgend, Maesteg, Swansea, the Upper Llynfi Valley and Pontypridd.
