Species account from Moths of Glamorgan (Gilmore, Slade & Stewart, 2009):
Unusually for a Nepticulid, the adult is large and distinctive whilst recording the larva is very tricky indeed as it is believed to feed in the leaf buds of Alder. It is certain to be more widespread than records suggest. Recorded from Oxwich, 1993 (RGW), twice at Kenfig - 05.viii.1929 (HMH) and 10.vii.1995 (DJS), and at Plymouth Great Wood, Cardiff, 12.vi.1996 (DJS).
