The Glamorgan Moth Group are a group of local moth enthusiasts devoted to the study and conservation of moths within the Vice County of Glamorgan, in south Wales.
Species account from Moths of Glamorgan (Gilmore, Slade & Stewart, 2009):
On the wing from January until March. This was new to Wales when it was discovered in the vicinity of the Gabalfa Interchange in central Cardiff, and five individuals were recorded over the next two months all flying in the early morning or evening. The larvae have yet to be found in the county, but are known to live in portable cases feeding on dead insects and leaf litter.
Update:
The larvae have subsequently been found at Radyr and Bridgend Railway Stations, and adults have been observed at both sites. Nevertheless, it remains a highly localised species.
