Found on open moorland, principally in the Merthyr area, with records at Merthyr Tydfil 1900 (GF), Merthyr Common 01.v.1997 (DRWG, MCP), Bedd-y-Gwyddel 03.vi.1998 (BS, SJS), Abernant 26.vi.2001 (ME), though also recorded at Llantrisant 21.vi.1899 (EJ), and three times on Gower; at Mayals 29.v.1978 (SW, SVW), Cefn Bryn 27.vi.1941 (CHT), Swansea (unspecified) 03.vi.1941 (CHT) and Clyne May 1944 (CHT).
